A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after she expressed her deep frustration at being single and wanting a relationship
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she questioned the popular belief that being single is a personal choice, insisting that many people just pretend they’re fine with it.
She said in her own words:
“Being single is not a choice, being single is not a choice. I don’t see who will date me, but I don’t make most of us pretend.”
She further expressed her frustration with her dating life, claiming that despite her attempts to stay positive, she has not been able to find a partner.
According to her, many people publicly preach self-love, but privately struggle with loneliness and want company.
“Your happiness doesn’t revolve around a man, your happiness doesn’t revolve around a man, go and heal oo. Apart from loving yourself, happiness revolves around a man, and that’s the truth,” she added.
Her last comment, in which she admitted that she was tired and needed a partner, caused even more reactions on the Internet, with many divided over her opinion.
While some netizens agreed with her honesty about loneliness, others insisted that happiness should come from within and not depend on a relationship.
