“Everywhere in the world, even in America, flying is expensive” – Tinubu’s wife

The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed optimism about the future of the country, stating that ongoing infrastructure projects and government investments will bring long-term benefits to Nigerians.
Speaking in a viral video, The first lady admitted to being concerned about the high cost of air travel, but noted that flight prices are expensive they are not unique to Nigeria.
According to her, air transport costs have risen globally, including in the United States, prompting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to focus on expanding alternative transport systems such as rail and coastal transport.
The government is expanding the transport infrastructure
Mrs. Tinubu said the Federal Government is continuing efforts to improve the national transport network through investments in rail projects and other infrastructure developments.
““Nigeria is such a great country and now you can see the airports coming up, so I know you’re going to say, ‘Oh, flights are so expensive,'” she said.
“Everywhere in the world, including in America, flights are expensive. And that’s why Mr. President is doing coastal routes, not only coastal routes, he’s even trying to have railway lines.”
She added that while some railway projects were initiated by the previous administration, the current government remains committed to their completion.
“And so I know that the previous administration started the rail line and, you know, we’re continuing. We continue with construction,” she said.
‘Nigeria has a great future’
The First Lady expressed confidence that ongoing development efforts would yield positive results in the coming years, describing Nigeria’s prospects as promising.
“Nigeria has a huge future ahead of it and by the grace of God, very soon we will all be beneficiaries of the success of what Nigeria will become,” she said.
