“I was disqualified because I didn’t have a boom-boom” – Abuja job seeker complains about interview experience

Nigerian lady shared her frustration online after she was allegedly disqualified during a job interview in Abuja, claiming the selection process focused more on physical appearance than qualifications.
According to her, she applied for the hostess position and arrived at the venue only to find that many other candidates had also been called for an interview.
She said in her own words:
“I’ve never been this embarrassed in my life. Like, I’ve never felt like this in my entire life. So today I went to a job interview here in Abuja and I applied to be a hostess.”
She claimed that officers began screening applicants based on physical characteristics such as height, body size, complexion and overall appearance, and several applicants were allegedly asked to leave before the interview process began.
The lady further stated that the remaining candidates were asked to line up and turn around while their bodies were being assessed.
According to her, she ended up being disqualified without anyone review her resume or ask about her experience.
“They asked us to do a 360. They checked our behinds. If you don’t have a bum-bum, go. They didn’t even look at my CV. They didn’t even ask me anything. From there I took my bag and started coming back home. This is how I was disqualified because I don’t have a bum-bum,” she added.
Her account has since sparked backlash online, with many social media users discussing appearance-based hiring practices and the pressure some women face regarding their body image.
She said the experience left her feeling humiliated and questioning why physical appearance seemed more important than qualifications.
