“It’s a service of songs, not a white party” – Bobrisky gets fired up over dress unveiling at Alex Ekubo Memorial

- Bobrisky criticized some attendees at Alex Ekubo’s song service for their clothing choices, questioning the use of heavy makeup, revealing dresses and high heels at the commemorative event.
- His comments have since sparked an online debate about appropriate dress at funerals and memorials.

Nigerian socialite and fashion influencer Bobrisky has sparked reactions online after he criticized the way some guests dressed for a song service held in honor of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.
Taking to social media shortly after the memorial event, Bobrisky expressed displeasure with what he described as inappropriate fashion choices by some attendees.
According to society, song service is a solemn occasion and should not be treated as a white party or a fashion show.
“His song ministry is not a WHITE party. What with all the heavy makeup, high heels, curve-showing dresses and all.
“I have no problem dressing elegantly and stunningly, but showing skin, thighs, cleavage at a funeral.Bobrisky wrote.
In a further remark, society suggested that some women were more interested in attracting attention than mourning the deceased.
“Some Nigerian girls will fit in a morgue if they let them,” Bobrisky added.
The comments have since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users agreeing that funerals and memorial events should be approached with modesty and respect, while others argued that people should be free to dress however they want, as long as they remain respectful.
A service of songs for Alex Ekubo drew family members, close friends, colleagues and fans who came together to celebrate the actor’s life and legacy after his death.
