Joseph Momodu officially joins the US Army, dedicates his success to his late father

Nollywood actor Josip Momodu officially joined the United States (US) Army after successfully completing basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Sharing the milestone on his Instagram page, the actor described the achievement as deeply personal, saying it allowed him to carry on the legacy of his late father, who he served in the Nigerian Police Force before he passed away.
“On April 12, 2026, I honored my late father in a historic way. Twenty years after his death, I picked up where he left off in the Nigerian Police Force and continued by enlisting in the United States Army,” he wrote.
Joseph Momodu revealed that he is now officially Specialist (SPC) JA Momodu, serving with 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment.


Expressing gratitude, he thanked God for helping him pass the ASVAB exam in the first attempt and successfully complete Basic Combat Training.
“Today is official: Specialist (SPC) JA Momodu, United States Army. I dedicate this achievement first to Almighty God for the grace to pass my ASVAB on my first attempt and successfully complete Basic Combat Training.
Second, to my late father, whose legacy I proudly preserve. And finally, to the royal family of Oba Momodu II, the Avyuele clan, Agbede, Etsako West, Edo State,” he added
Fans and colleagues have since congratulated the actor on the achievement, with many applauding his decision to honor his late father’s legacy by serving in the military.
His latest success has been widely celebrated, with supporters describing his transition from acting to military service as inspiring and worthy of recognition.
