Lady fakes wedding to collect ₦150k at workplace

A social media user on X (formerly Twitter) shared an astonishing story of how a woman to fake a wedding in order to receive financial gifts from her workplace.
According to the post, staff members in the organization had a tradition of giving money whenever an employee got married.
According to the agreement, management contributes ₦100,000 while colleagues contribute an additional ₦50,000.
The poster, identifying the story as one involving the sister’s colleague, claimed the woman had worked at the organization for a long time and was aware of the politics.
It is said that she recently got a new job in another state and is about to quit.
Before leaving, she allegedly printed out a fake wedding invitation and presented it to her manager, triggering the usual wedding support process.
After the submission, colleagues reportedly began contributing to what they believed to be her upcoming wedding.
The post further claimed that the organization paid her ₦150,000 a week before the alleged ceremony, in line with its internal practice meant to support preparations.
Shortly after receiving the money, she reportedly resigned from her position.
In a further twist, it was claimed that the day before the scheduled wedding date, she privately informed a colleague that the whole event was made up, saying she was only acting as she had previously attended the weddings of many work colleagues over the years.
