AND mother shared an emotional account of how her young son’s honesty helped him retrieve a missing pencil after it was replaced by another student at school.
According to the woman, she arrived to pick up her son at school and found him crying.
The boy explained that another student had replaced his new pencil, which he had bought the day before, with a half-empty one.
When he reported the incident to his teacher, she believed the other child and handed him a new pen.
The supervisory test settles the dispute
Instead of simply replacing the pen, the mother said she decided to intervene because her son deserved to be heard. She asked him to call his teacher, who later involved the school the supervisor after hearing her explanation.
Recounting that meeting, the mother said: “Go back inside and tell your teacher I want to see her.” She explained that she was adamant that the half-empty pen could not belong to her son because she had bought him a new one just the day before.
She further related that the supervisor devised a simple test by showing two similar pencils and asking the boy to choose one.
