Odumeje questions Tinubu’s achievements, cites campaign promise on electricity

A popular priest Chukwuemeka Odumeje has sparked reactions online after he openly criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, questioning the achievements of the current government.

“I don’t know people who celebrate Tinubu. Tell me one thing Tinubu has done since he came into government. The only thing I know Tinubu has done is to ensure that APC remains in charge of Nigeria. Only APC people celebrate him,” he said.

The cleric also expressed disappointment with the country’s leadership, stating that Nigerians have become accustomed to bad governance instead of demanding better results from elected officials.

Odumeje further mentioned Tinubu’s election promise on electricityclaiming that the President has pledged to ensure stable electricity supply during his first term.

“Tinubu promised us that when he enters the government, we will give him four years and Nigeria will have electricity 24 hours. If that does not happen, let them not vote him for a second term.

I do not belong to any political party. I am talking about good governance and leaders who can develop the nation they are elected to serve,” he added.

His remarks drew mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing with his criticism of the government, while others defended the president and argued that reforms need time to yield results.

The comments added to the ongoing debate on the performance of the Tinubu administration as Nigerians continue to express different views on the direction of the country.
