Oluwatoyin Ogundipe (born May 31, 1960) is a Nigerian academic and professor of botany. He was the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos from November 2017 to November 2022.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe, President of the Board of Directors of the National University Commission.
The appointment was announced in a press release on Monday Bayo Onanugaspecial adviser to the President for information and strategy.
Biography of Oluwatoyin Ogundipe

Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe was born on May 31, 1960. He attended the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and obtained a degree in Botany (B.Sc.).
He holds a Masters in Botany from the University of Ife and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) from the same university. He later obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Lagos.
Career
In November 2017, he was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos. Until his appointment in November, he was the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos.
The governing board of the university removed Ogundipe as the vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos after he was accused of financial irregularities and serious misconduct.
However, President Muhammadu Buhari reinstated him following the advice of an investigation team, which found that the dismissal was not done in accordance with due process.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has chosen Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe to chair the governing board of the National Universities Commission.
He succeeded Professor Emeritus Olufemi Raphael Aina, who resigned after less than a year in office. President It hurts Tinubu appointed Professor Aina last July, and the board members will be inaugurated in November 2025.
