Pastor Lawrence laments Nigeria’s decline, praises Obasanjo’s legacy

cleric Lovre expresses disappointment with the current situation Nigeria and challenging the country’s continued reputation as the “giant of Africa.”
Speaking during a recent message, the pastor asserted that the title no longer reflects the reality facing many Nigerians.
He praised former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing him as one of the best leaders the country has had and citing debt reduction achieved during his administration as a significant achievement.
Pastor Lawrence also expressed concern over Nigeria’s growing debt burden and what he sees as increasing foreign control over sectors of the economy.
He lamented what he described as a decline in national dignity and influence compared to previous decades.
Emphasizing the need for responsibility in leadership, the cleric asserted that political support should not be based on family ties, ethnicity, religion or personal relationships.
According to him, citizens should judge leaders based on their performance and the impact of their policies on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
His words…
“I don’t want to hear anybody say Giant of Africa. It’s a mockery. Obasanjo is still one of the best presidents to ever preside over this country. I don’t care what you say about him. Go and read the record of the things he did. In his tenure, all debts disappeared.
But in some people’s terms, we don’t even know where the debt is going now. It has definitely moved beyond earth into space.
I recently read in the news that some people went on one inquiry to get sand, and the people selling the sand were Chinese. In your own country. Pss@me. Giant of Africa.
If you know the dignity of Nigeria decades ago but today it is a different game.
Let me tell you, if my brother from the same father and mother was the president of this nation and things are like this, if I vote for him, there is no end to that punishment. That’s true. I would rather give up my own surname than vote for him…”
