A netizen recounts how they fight colleague sent them a wedding call after they contributed money for him.

According to her account, members of the group had previously contributed around £1.2 million to help a classmate who had reportedly been unemployed for six years.

The money was allegedly intended to help him acquire a professional qualification or establish a small business.

She claimed that shortly after, the user surprised the group by sharing a wedding the invitation, explaining that he decided to marry his girlfriend of four years because he now has “little money”.

The woman said that the members of the group were shocked by the turn of events, especially since the funds were provided for another purpose.

According to her, the situation escalated when the man allegedly followed up with another message asking the group to financially support his wedding, stating that his budget for the wedding was £3.2 million and he could not finance it himself.

She claimed that the request was poorly received and members subsequently removed it from the group chat.

“My colleagues and I gave ₦1.2 million for one of our colleagues who has been unemployed for the past 6 years.

We raised money to help him learn a skill or start a small business so he could get back on his feet.

Just last week he sent his wedding invitation to the group.

The whole group fell silent.

When we asked him why, he said that now that he had “little money”, he decided it was the right time to marry his girlfriend of 4 years.

We didn’t say anything.

He sent another message:

“Guys please, I can’t do this alone. My wedding budget is £3.2 million. I need your support.”

They immediately removed him from the group🙄”
