Veteran Nollywood actor Kola Oyewo has died at the age of 80

Veteran actor and respected theater icon, Kola Oyewohe reportedly passed away at the age of 80, leaving the entertainment industry in deep mourning.
News of his death has thrown Nollywood into mourning, with colleagues, fans and Yoruba film lovers paying tribute to his remarkable legacy and contribution to the development of stage and film acting in Nigeria.


Oyewo is considered one of the pioneers of modern Nigerian theatre.
He devoted several decades of his life to acting, teaching and mentoring young talents who later became prominent figures in the industry.
Throughout his career, he has starred in numerous theater plays and films, earning widespread respect for his powerful performances, cultural depth and ability to bring stories to life.

“Tonight we lost a true legend. Kola Oyewo paid his last respects. Rest well sir. Your work lives on,” he wrote.
