- Ekubo claims that Alex’s stepmother influenced important decisions regarding his personal life and burial.

Clinton Ekubo, who claims to be a relative of the late Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, has shared his story of the events surrounding the actor’s death.
In a lengthy Facebook post, he said Alex’s stepmother played a major role in key decisions affecting his personal life and funeral arrangements, while also sidelining his wider family.
He further claimed that the stepmother allegedly introduced her best friend’s daughter to Alexa as a wife without the knowledge or consent of his biological family, insisting that the marriage was a sudden one and leaving the family shocked when they eventually found out.
According to him, Alex later distanced himself from his biological family and became closer to his stepmother’s household, allegedly attending family events from that side while separating from his own relatives. He also stated that there was no close relationship between Alex and Chioma, whom he identified as his biological sister from the same mother.
Clinton added that the late actor allegedly rejected his biological mother during her lifetime and refused to maintain a relationship with her. He further claimed that the burial process seemed unusually rushed, which raised suspicions in the family.
He also questioned the circumstances of Alex’s death, stating that he noticed blood clots in the actor’s eyes during the funeral and heard claims that he had already been brought to hospital dead. He called for an explanation of what exactly happened.
His words…
“To be honest, my brother David Ekubo and my sister Ify Ekubo were right in their writing.
His stepmother arranged for Alex to marry her best friend’s daughter as his wife without the knowledge of Ekubo Okwareke’s family and the marriage was just like that. We were shocked to hear that Alex got married. I personally asked, “What’s going on?”
She directed Alex Ekubo to her family while we in Ekubo Okwareke’s family could not do anything to make him attend or show interest. Alex lost interest in our family and became part of his stepmother’s family to the point of attending every wedding in her family.
There was no intimacy between Alex and Chioma, his own biological sister from the same mother, and he became too close to his stepmother’s children, which I don’t understand, etc.
Alex Ekubo was ill; no one knew until his death. He died, and the family did not know that our son was sick and dead until his stepmother announced it to the public. Alex Ekubo rejected his biological mother when he was alive and wants nothing to do with her. His biological mother is still alive.
His funeral was planned and organized by his friends and stepmother without family members.
I think I was the only family member who saw his corpse and stood on my turf to watch what was happening. Her family members were everywhere as if it were their own. The burial was rushed as if there was something that someone was trying to hide from us.
No one explains what really happened to our son. How come he has a blood clot in his eyes? Is the blood clot in his eyes also part of the cancer?
We also heard that Alex Ekubo was brought to the hospital dead. My uncle (My father) knew nothing about all this. The announcement of his death was a shock to me, and he was buried just like that. My uncle answers to his wife because he is at the mercy of his wife, forgetting that we own him and his son Alex.
Ekubo Okwareke was asked to wear white for the 40-year-old boy. Please note that I am not writing this to ask for anything, but just for clarity.
Please remove properties from this. Ekubo Okwareke’s family is demanding an explanation for her son because she could not explain to us in a closed room
We are Igbos. How can a woman married into a family become stronger than her husband’s family members? In Arochukwu Kingdom of Abia State, only men whose fathers are dead can be called Mazi. But I called Alex Ikenna Ekubo’s stepmother, Mazi, because of her boldness in influencing things to happen without the permission of family members regarding our son. But it’s good!
ALEX IKKENNA EKUBO OKWAREKE, REST IN PEACE”.
