“You should be in the kitchen” – Warri boss condemns Remi Tinuba, questions her role in the presidency

A traditional chief in Warri has sparked controversy after making comments about Nigeria’s first lady, Oluremi Tinubusaying that she should focus on her husband and family responsibilities and not on Warri’s affairs.
Speaking at the rally, he accused the First Lady of being out of touch with the hardships facing ordinary Nigerians, especially amid growing insecurity across the country.
“She should take care of her responsibility by taking care of her husband and children. She has no place in the president’s office,” he stated.
The boss further argued that the first lady has no constitutional role in governance. He insisted that she should not interfere in political or regional issues.
He also expressed frustration over the worsening security situationarguing that many communities feel abandoned by those in charge.
“Our blood is bleeding now. We are tired of all this nonsense from Itsekiri. No matter who it is, we are ready for it,” he added.
His comments drew mixed reactions online. While many condemned the statements as sexist, others saw them as an expression of frustration at the insecurity and challenges of governance.
