Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has sparked a conversation online after she shared her opinion on the role of sexual compatibility in marriage.
Speaking about her X account, the actress stated that couples should consider whether they are sexually compatible before committing to each other for life. According to her, people who have little or no interest in sexual intimacy may not be suitable for marriage.
Dayo explained that while two people who enter marriage as virgins can grow and adjust together without many preconceived expectations, the situation can be different for those who have had previous sexual experiences. She noted that such people often come into relationships with established preferences, desires and expectations.
The actress further emphasized that living together before marriage involves more than sharing bills and household duties. In her view, physical intimacy remains an important aspect of cohabitation and should not be overlooked when couples assess their compatibility.

“If sex is not your thing, you shouldn’t be married and that’s why I don’t believe that people are not meant to live together before marriage.. Two virgins who get married without any wild desires can cope, but as for those tested, we all have our own sexual desires, demands and preferences.
“The essence of cohabitation is beyond cooking and making the sheets, sex is the top 3, and it’s not even number two or three.. Get down well with your partners to know what you plan to live with for the rest of your life! Know if you’re compatible. I recommend sexual compatibility before making a decision.”
