“Tinubu’s mandate is worse than Buhari’s” – ex-military officer complains about uncertain crisis, warns Nigerians

formermilitary officer sparked reactions online after expressing concern over the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria, warning that citizens have yet to fully see what awaits them if urgent measures are not taken.

Speaking during a live video on TikTok, the former army officer claimed that kidnapping and insecurity continue to spread across the country despite the change in leadership.

In his own words he said:

“I am a 3-star captain, so you cannot argue with me on security. Tinubu knows everything that is happening in Nigeria.

You can see I’m showing my face here, so I’m not afraid. The kidnapping that is happening everywhere is not behind the hands of the governor and the president and you all have not seen anything yet, there is more.”

He noted that many Nigerians expected insecurity to reduce under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu compared to former President Buhari’s regime, but he argued that the situation has instead worsened.

Ex-officer too he complained about the impact of insecurity on educationsaying that many parents are now afraid to send their children to school because of the growing threat of kidnapping.

“We cannot send our children to school again, they will be kidnapped, in a country that has a president. But within three and a half years, someone spent 160 billion. What did they use it for? This period is worse than Buhari’s time,” he added.

He further questioned why Nigerian troops could be deployed to support security operations in other countries while many communities in the country continue to face security challenges.

The comments have since drawn mixed reactions online, with Nigerians sharing differing views on the country’s security situation and the government’s response.
