Bassey joins the Super Eagles camp as Nigeria finalize preparations for their clash with Poland

Calvin Bassey arrived in Super Eagles camp in Warsaw on the eve of the team’s last training session before the international friendly match against Poland.
The defender’s arrival is a timely boost for head coach Eric Chelle, who has been forced to deal with several departures from his original squad.
Iwobi remains absent from the camp
Despite Bassey’s arrival, his Fulham team-mate Alex Iwobi had yet to report to the camp until Tuesday, increasing uncertainty over his availability for the friendly.
Another Fulham player, Samuel Chukwueze, is not expected to feature after reportedly being excused on compassionate grounds following the recent death of his mother.

Chelle ready for the last training
Chelle is expected to oversee a group of 20 players during Tuesday’s evening training session, which will take place on the main pitch of the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw.
The session is scheduled to begin at 6:30pm local time, shortly after the Super Eagles coach addresses the media in his pre-match press conference.
A strong team available for trial in Poland
Players already in camp include Wilfred Ndidi, Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho, Arthur Okonkwo, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, Akor Adams and Terem Moffi.
Nigeria head into the match against Poland in high spirits after retaining the Unity Cup with a convincing 3-0 win over Jamaica in London.
