Don’t Marry Someone You’ve Been Dating — Woman Gives Shocking Marriage Advice

A woman has sparked widespread debate online after advising people not to marry the same person they’ve been dating for years, claiming that in the long run relationships they often remove the excitement and respect needed to be successful marriage.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the woman openly stated that she would not recommend marrying a long-term boyfriend or girlfriend when it comes time to settle down.
“When you’re ready for marriage, I wouldn’t recommend the person you were in a relationship with to be your wife, frankly, or to be your husband.”
Long-term dating can weaken a marriage, she claims
According to the speaker, many couples get to know each other too much over the years and can lose the respect and excitement that could have strengthened their marriage.
She argued that some partners go through too much together before marriage, including fights, disappointments and unhealthy behaviors.
“No respect. She addressed you in any way. You talked to her either way. You saw how you ended up, she said.
The woman also claimed that some couples have already gone through almost all the stages of their life together before officially getting married.
“You saw yourself happy. You saw yourself sad. Some of you physically attacked each other. You did extreme things.”
When asked what will remain new after years of relationship, the woman concluded:
“Finally, now you say, well, what’s going to be exciting about marriage then?”
