“I spent ₦80,000 on a suit and then he removed me as best man a day before my wedding” — Man shares experience

AND man has sparked conversations online after revealing why he decided not to attend a close friend’s wedding despite months of involvement in the preparations.
According to the man, he actively supported the groom before the ceremony and was initially selected as one of the best men.
He explained that he spent £80,000 to have the suit made especially for the occasion because of the close friendship they shared.
However, shortly before the wedding, events took an unexpected turn.
Months of preparation
Recounting his experience, the man said he played a significant role in helping the groom organize the event.
“We planned the wedding together for months. I followed him around the market to buy things, helped him book an MC and DJ and helped him with a few other preparations.”
He noted that he is fully committed to ensuring that the wedding plans go smoothly and he had no reason to expect any changes in his role.
Last minute change
“Then, the day before the wedding, he called me and said that I could no longer be among the best men. Instead, he wanted me to help him with the drinks during the event. 80k for a suit simply because he was a good friend of mine. And now he rejects me, probably because other guys are richer.”
He added that he decided not to confront the groom on the matter.
The story has drawn mixed reactions online, with many social media users discussing friendship, loyalty and the expectations surrounding wedding ceremonies.
Some sympathized with the man’s disappointment, while others argued that the groom had the right to decide on his own wedding.
