“She saw the fear in my eyes” – Lady recounts how the tailor’s question forced her to cancel the wedding
Nigerian lady went viral after she revealed how her tailor had repeatedly warned her not to marry her fiancé, advice she initially ignored until a shocking incident changed everything.
According to the lady, the tailor first questioned her decision while taking measurements for her traditional wedding dress, asking her if she was sure she wanted to marry the man.
Recalling that meeting, she said:
“She paused and asked me: ‘Are you sure you will marry him?’ I told her to face her sewing and stop meddling in things that don’t concern her.”
The lady said the same question came up again during her first rehearsal.
Although she dismissed it at the time, she later began to notice her fiancé’s controlling behavior, including his own insisting that she save her money in his account, something she had overlooked as she was focused on her wedding preparations.
She said the turning point came when her fiance allegedly slapped her for attending her cousin’s introduction ceremony without first asking his permission.
“That’s when it all started to make sense. I canceled the wedding and later asked my seamstress how she knew. She said she noticed how he controlled everything and saw the fear in my eyes from day one,” she added.
The revelation has since sparked backlash on social media, with many users praising the seamstress for speaking out, saying her persistence may have saved the lady from an unhappy marriage.
Looking back on her decision, the lady said she has no regrets, adding that “a broken relationship is better than a failed marriage.”
