Video of Oyo residents singing ‘Jagaban 2027’ after receiving Semovita goes viral

The video, which has been circulating on X, shows residents holding 1kg packets of Semovite while chanting “Jagaban 2027”, a slogan associated with President Bolo Tinubu and his supporters ahead of the next election cycle.

The video soon drew criticism from many social media users, who expressed concern about poverty, political patronage and the influence of material gifts on public political support.

Some argued that the incident reflected the economic hardships facing many Nigerians, while others questioned whether such gestures could sway voters’ political decisions.
