“This is not his call” – Mike Bamiloye defends Pastor Adeboye amid protest calls

  • Nigerian priest Mike Bamiloye defends Pastor Enoch Adeboye amid criticism of insecurity in Nigeria.
  • Some Nigerians have called on Adeboye to lead protests against the government due to growing insecurity.
  • Bamiloye argues that it is unreasonable to expect the 84-year-old pastor to lead public demonstrations.

Nigerian priest Mike Bamiloye has come to the defense of Pastor Enoch Adeboye amid growing criticism from Nigerians over his handling of insecurity in the country.

Some Nigerians have called on Adeboye to lead a protest against the government in response to growing insecurity. However, Bamiloye dismissed the expectation, arguing that it was unreasonable to expect the 84-year-old man of God to lead public demonstrations against any administration, given his age and spiritual calling.

He further explained that Adeboye’s participation in the last protest on February 2, 2020, during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, was carried out on the directives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Community of Nigeria (PFN).

According to him, the primary duty of pastors is to consistently pray for national peace and seek divine intervention in governance, not to engage in political protests.

His words…

“This is what he said. Many bloggers saw it, but they would project it on others. But he spoke against Evil.

And for all those who expect an 84-year-old man, a servant of God, to lead a protest against the Government, it does not make sense given his age and the mandate of his calling. And for all those who said he led the protest against Jonathan on February 2, 2010, it was the instruction of CAN and PFN for every church to organize a protest against INSECURITY in the nation, and he complied and also led his denomination, just like some other churches have done.

Our main responsibility as the Church of God is to constantly pray for the peace of our nation and God’s intervention in the Government. 1 TIMOTHY 2:1-3″.
