“Christians are cowards” – Reverend Kesiena condemns the faithful for voting, criticizes the government for insecurity

A popular priest Rev. Kesiena sparked backlash online after criticizing Christians for their voting choices and response to the country’s worsening insecurity.
The priest expressed regret for the plight of the abducted school children, noting that the kidnappers are still holding dozens of victims, including small children.
“Forty-six people are still in the bush, including children. One of them is a two-year-old. They woke up and went to school, just like our own children went to school, and they kidnapped them,” he said.
He also questioned the priorities of some religious leaders and political figures, claiming that public celebrations and political activities continue despite the suffering of innocent Nigerians.
Reverend Kesiena went on to talk about the economic hardships facing citizens, recalling his shock after buying fuel for ₦50,000 and reflecting on the burden many Nigerians are now carrying.
“I was with Pastor Mina when I bought 50,000 pounds of fuel. I couldn’t cry because he was there. I just looked at the meter and said, ‘At 50,000 pounds, I’m buying fuel.’ Na cry wan comot for my throat,” he stated.
The preacher went on to criticize Christians for supporting politicians he believes lack integrity and proven leadership skills, insisting that voters should prioritize values and abilities when choosing leaders.
He also expressed disappointment over what he described as political compromises and poor leadership decisions that have contributed to the current challenges facing the nation.
“Christians are cowards. That’s why we raised Christians who can go and vote for a thief, vote for people who have no integrity,” he added.
