Popular Nigerian television host and media personality, Moet Abebe, widely referred to as the “radio goddess”, has sparked online debates after making bold comments about her career impact and status in the Nigerian entertainment space.
During a recent appearance on the Chacha’s Couch podcast, she revisited her journey in the media industry, stating that she interviewed almost all the top Nigerian music stars who shaped the industry between 2010 and 2020.
She further suggested that most of the artists who experienced great success during that period would have, at one point or another, been featured in an interview with her, highlighting the reach and influence of her work during that period.
“There is no artiste in Nigeria that I have not interviewed, except maybe lately. But those people from 2010 to 2020, there is not a single artiste. If you have not been interviewed by Moet Abebe and you reigned between 2010 and 2020, my dear, you have not done well enough. That is what I will say because I have interviewed everyone, at least anyone who asks,” she said.
Her comments immediately drew mixed reactions on social media, with some users agreeing with her statement about her influence and contribution to the industry, while others described her statement as controversial and exaggerated.
